Before the Rain – New Song
Here’s another song I created sometime this year or last. Within about five minutes of walking distance from our house in Texas was a school. Almost every weekend, I would go to that park behind the school with my dog. We would run around, play fetch, and go down the playground slides.
It was on one of those days that I would create the basis of this song. It was a very, very windy day and nothing but gray clouds passed overhead. One could say it was “cloudy”, but not in the usual sense of the word. There was something rejuvenating and fresh about that day… perhaps it was because the clouds didn’t stagnate, but instead raced across the sky. Or maybe it was because of the wind tearing across the field—bringing with it, scattered leaves.
There was not a soul in sight besides my dog who was now sniffing the cool air. Not even the birds were chirping. But we were there. Thoughtful. Contemplating the wonder of that afternoon—before the rain.
